St. Stephens Basilica is the largest church in Budapest (and the second largest in Hungary) and was named after King Saint Stephen, who founded the Hungarian state. It was constructed from 1848 to 1905, designed by Miklós Ybl, József Hild and József Kauser. Located in the 5th district at Szent István tér.
Its only 1 minute from Arany János u. subway stop, or 5 minutes from Deák tér. The Basilica is the chapel of The Holy Right (religious relic, the mummified right hand of King St. Stephen). It has a large Church art collection and offers a spectacular view from the tower.
